GM motors will be selling a new city car named Agila, which is based on Suzuki’s Swift platform.

Suzuki now wanted its own version of the car and the company did not take much time to develop a car named Splash. The name Splash first appeared on a concept that teased Agila at the Paris Motor Show.

Suzuki plans to build the car in Hungary and it will also offer identical specifications as the Agila. This five-seater will also be available in two petrol variants that is a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, 12-valve unit with maximum power of 48KW and a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, 16-Valve unit with a maximum power of 63KW. For those of you who love diesel engines more that their counterparts the company will also be releasing a diesel variant of the car that will feature a 1.3-liter, common rail, 16-valve unit with a maximum power of 55KW.

All the three variants will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Suzuki also hopes to sell more than 60,000 units of the car in Europe.

The car, which will make a debut at the International Motor Show in September in Frankfurt, bears the same specifications and looks as the GM counterpart besides a slightly different front and of course the Suzuki badges…!
