Yes that’s right. Tata Nano is no longer the world’s cheapest car. And this time the competition is a green little called the Tara Tiny. Made by India’s Tara International, the four-seater electric Tiny claims to blaze the roads at a staggering 70kmph with a range of 100 km to a single charge. Using an electric battery, which is like one-fifth or one-tenth the cost of using gas so you also get to save mega bucks after you buy the car. And since I can see that the suspense is killing you, I might as well let you know that the Tiny costs a whole rupee less than the Nano and will sell at Rs.99,999! (That’s probably a couple of cents less than the Nano) I’m astonished they managed to knock down so much on cost! And that’s not all. Tara might still be able to bring down the line as it has three more electric cars lined up in its kitty. Expect the Tara Titu, Tara Micro and Tara Mini to cost anywhere between the high 99,980s and the mid 99,990s.
