Powered by the ever so muscular VW beetle engine, the super sexy Tristar road going trike concept takes the notions of designer glory and weds it with road-legal functionality to produce what can be called the most practical roadster concept in a a long while. The concept is capable of handling a type3 pancake engine or a water-cooled engine from an Alfa or Subaru mounted in front of the rear axle that can dramatically improve the weight distribution and handling of the whole vehicle. With a front suspension based on the Hossack design, the concept seeks to eliminate sticktion on raked forks which coupled with anti-dive geometry further steadies the performance of the trike. Plywood from the boat building traditions will be hauled in to make the panels using CAD CAM and laser or router technology to bring a touch of classiness to the exteriors of the rugged machine.
