The 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG looks like a big effort by Mercedes-Benz to wrest the C-segment market, which BMW has been ruling. The C-segment is a popular niche and is a hotbed of fierce competition.

Mercedes-Benz has high hopes from the upcoming 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG; the car delivers good power and speed with commendable acceleration. The ubiquitous 6.2L V8 engine produces 450 horses and provides 443 lb-ft of twisting force.

Though many would have liked it to be based on the manual transmission, the transmission remains 7G-TRONIC, seven speed, automatic which may be called the current workhorse of Mercedes-Benz in transmission systems.

The suspension has been lowered and stiffened. The brakes have been enlarged and have widely improved fade resistance and lower weight.
