The 2008 supercharged Harley-Davidson F-150 overlooks the 2007 model in the way of looks, orderly content and audacity. Alike 2007 replica, it has an optional dealer installed Saleen supercharger system with 450 hp.
The 2008 F-150 is an upshot of incredible customer reaction to the F-150 performance truck concept that was on display at the November 2006 SEMA show. The supercharged F-150 Harley-Davidson has the credentials that Ford truck buffs have been demanding eversince it was curtains for Lightning in the past. The last supercharged Harley-Davidson had a whooping 380 hp and has been deeply missed since it disappeared in 2004.
Ben Poore, Ford Truck group marketing manager quoted:
Ford is the truck leader because we pay attention to what our customers want and move quickly to meet their needs. They told us they wanted a performance equipped truck so we worked with Saleen to bring the supercharged F-150 Harley-Davidson to market in rapid fashion.
The new supercharged F-150 appears in new black and gold tone paint scheme. The sparkling chrome 22-inch wheels and tyres along with a custom scalloped stripe that runs along the beltline craft a glued-to-the-ground appearance. The ‘Harley-Davidson’ insignia comes in three-dimensional chrome letters. Blacked-out headlamps and a unique chrome billet grille give it a distinctive, gallant front-end.
The Saleen twin-screw supercharger option is available through Ford dealers to be installed there. Just like the system Saleen individually offer F-150’s, the system features a dual stage water-to-air intercooler with an upgraded exhaust system. An optional Saleen style center mounted gauge pod is also offered that measures boost and air charge temperature.
The 2008 F-150 Harley-Davidson truck is the ninth model to materialize from a Ford/Harley-Davidson joint venture that began in 1999. The vintage biggies tie-up has proven to be a successful formula with total sales of Ford F-Series Harley-Davidsons of nearly 60,000 units.
The cost of the option is $6500 MSRP. Base F-150 Harley-Davidson pricing starts at $37,210 MSRP including $925 destination and delivery. This puts a base supercharged Harley-Davidson pickup at just under $45,000.
