The Chinese are at it again, but this time, they are not cloning some BMW or Audi or even a Merc. That is reason enough for you to read on. Fed up of copying other manufacturers’ designs, China based Geely motors have decided to build their own GT coupe, replete with their own styling touches and development model. We have to give credit to Geely motors on this one, the GT coupe imaginatively titled the “Beauty Leopard” is a muscular looking car which oozes muscle all around. Though it has a few touches inspired by different supercars from all over the world, this is a good start by Geely motors to enter the muscle car league. The front is a raked up, aggressive gnarling design with a huge chrome v shaped grille which makes the Beauty Leopard very mean.
The sides too get the muscle car treatment with the coupe looking like a true muscle car with it’s upswept door flanges which goes right upto a very high boot. The rear too is well rounded with almost-wraparound tail lamps and plenty of chrome that will make driving behind this car a nightmarish experience. Now, the dampener, the car for sure looks the part of a muscle car, but under a hood, expect a 1.3 or a 1.5 liter gasoline engine. The small capacity engine of course detracts from the splendidly muscled Beauty Leopard. Now, that the Chinese have made a start, they can have a superb muscle car only if they plonk in a big V8 under the Beauty Leopard to make it one very fast car. The Geely GT concept will hit European shores later this year at an astounding GBP 10000, which is very inexpensive considering the Beauty Leopard’s looks and street cred.
