According to the vision of Dennis Ingemansson, the future will have residences doubling up for air transport, and we’re talking air-borne apartments here. Designed for the year 2060, the concept was created by the team of Michael Robinson, Diego Della Spiga, Jak Haleva, Turi Cacciatore and Luca Buttafava. These giant, fliers will float like airplanes at high altitudes, and will be able to adjust themselves to high speed winds.
These apartments won’t be some huge megaliths hanging in the air, they will also work as high speed transport systems. They will be able to cover the distance between Shanghai and New York in just 20 minutes, while the air trip to Dubai from London would take just 22 minutes. The concept sounds awesome and scary in equal parts; either way, we’re not going to talk about it being practical.
