Not all the good things come in small packages, sometimes size does matter (no pun intended) and in this case it really does...
It was last year when we could smell Clemens F. Leonhardt cooking something in his garage, but nobody back then seemed interested in ideas that you can’t see. However, if you take a peek now you will see one mammoth of a bike parked inside - ‘the Gunbus’.
It’s very hard to imagine seeing through the pics that how huge this is unless you see it standing next to some usual bike or any body mounted on it. This hell of a bike drives on an old 9 cylinder aero engine; surely a much larger then required, unleashing 350 horses on a roar of the accelerator. The 6728 cc V-Twin monster bike comes with a three speed transmission and an additional reverse gear.
Coming on the dimensions it takes an overall 134 inches of space to stand and a strong pair of legs to balance this 870 pounder. It gives an exact sitting posture with the height of around 31.5 inches and if you believe this is lower than many of the production bikes available around. The bike’s speed is bridled electronically limiting to just 155 mph.
As all of us by now have figured out that the architect of this mammoth, likes to think big (but I guess big is not the exact word) or rather mammoth is what he likes, as he wished to use Boeing 767 tires for the bike, but fortunately he got hold of a supplier who readily delivered him with custom tires made to the size...Of course they too are pretty big.
Clemens used a rolling chassis for the bike which seems a little off to the custom, and desires that only some limited versions will be made available for the interested buyers. A sidecar version is also under consideration.
It will definitely be interesting to watch out for the finished product making it on to the road and it will be more interesting for me to be the one riding the mammoth.
check out some amazing pics (here)
