One of the hottest cars in history, the Volkswagen Type 1, or the original Beetle is now ready to get into another cool form, that of LEGO bricks. Volkswagen and Lego have been working hard for quite sometime now to create the Beetle from Lego bricks.
Creating a Beetle from squares and cubes can be a very tough job, more so because the vehicle was famous for its curves and rounded shape but the Lego model does have an appeal of its own. Lego designer Steen Sig Andersen worked hard to recreate the car, complete with the engine.
After thorough hard work and study by designers at VW and Lego, the model finally took a shape for the consumer market. The Lego Beetle is slated to reach stores in summer next year, and before that, there is going to be a huge marketing campaign jointly organized by Lego and Volkswagen. The car will feature in several exhibitions and Lego events.
