To be very honest this is not much at all and it does not tell us anything stunningly new about the Coupe that is being jointly made by Toyota and Subaru. The all new Coupe is all set to make its grand release a long way away from now and till the hot wheels hit the road; here is some hot news from the rumor mill. This is really unbelievable as we are looking at the initial sketch of a car whose final design is a long way away and the release is set for 2010 and beyond.
AutoCar procured a sketch of the coupe that’s being jointly developed between Subaru and Toyota, and their sources confirm that the final design will be signed off in July. The whole intrigue around this story almost makes me feel as if I’m covering the secret affairs of some Hollywood star. According to the Brit pub, both automakers will have their own version of the rear-wheel-drive, two-door, powered by Subaru’s own 175 hp, 2.0-liter boxer engine. A 2.5-liter, turbocharged version is also being considered, which might send power to all four wheels in a nod to the historic Celica GT4.
For now that is all the news we have from the secret agent and that is still funny as it is still good 4 years away and we are already getting excited about it. Toyota/Subaru better live up to the expectation that is upon its shoulder from here on in.
