The opinion of people with response to small cars in the US is changing dramatically. With the gasoline prices soaring up each day that goes by, the public has started realizing the importance of these once despised small cars .it is not only the gasoline prices which has created an opening for these small cars , the manufacturers also have contributed to this recent boom by incorporating better technology and enhanced facilities in these mini cars .

Just for the record, the sales of B-segment cars were up by 43 percent in the first seven months compared to the same period last year.

Through July 151,848 small cars had been sold by the Automakers. The demand for Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris was so high that the dealers sold these cars at a price higher than slated even before they arrived in the stores .

GM has been reeling under heavy losses owing to their non-profitable sales of the big coupes but they made a mark in the sub-compact market as their Chevrolet Aveo became the highest selling Sub-compact vehicle in the US market over a period of three years.

The fastest to make a name in this segment is Toyota’s Yaris as it sold 32,822 units within four months of its release. DaimlerChrysler and Ford have also tipped-off that they have few subcompact vehicles in the wings. With fuel-efficiency and low pricing as their USP, these small cars are surely the new age vehicles leaving those big gas-guzzlers way behind.
