Metaphorically we are at a desert where water is scarce, meaning we are heading towards an energy crisis, all we can do is going green. C-Cactus from Citroën may look like a concept car but it is the true ecological car that calls for a round of applause for its creativity and ultra tech looks. As its name suggests, it’s like a Cactus plant that absorbs the minimum of water to live for years, C-Cactus is a fuel-efficient, economical and ecological car. Its design is pretty economical and lends a hand to keep the production costs low.
This very smart car has been designed with keeping in mind that planet resources are critical and scarce. So, C-Cactus uses considerable amount of recycled or eco-friendly materials such as felt, recycled leather, cork and body panels of crude steel. C-Cactus uses fuel in an impressive manner of 69 mpg, and is capable of running for 100 km with 3.4 liters and emits only 78 g/km of carbon dioxide.
It boasts of supreme power with its four-cylinder HDi engine along with its 30-hp electric motor that urges 70 horsepower with a speed of 93 mph. Its design has been optimized with diesel-electric hybrid powertrain to accommodate maximum space.
For urban use, its Zero Emission Vehicle mode allows for a silent and all-electric operation. The hybrid system allows maintaining fuel economy in journeys that require a lot of acceleration and deceleration. It is almost 15% lighter than other vehicle as it optimizes the parts that have been used without forgetting the luxury factor. The car also exhibits the recyclable 205/45R21 tires designed by Michelin.
Designed for a typical European family, the car also features a good audio system with an inimitable automatic climate control. Instead of a dashboard C-Cactus has a hub that is fixed to the Steering wheel with all the consoles in it. The simple sliding windows are too prim and the glass sunroof allows maximum view. You can also get an MP3 player with a touchscreen as your ignition key.
