There are many out there who dish out concept design day in and day out and sometimes you just want to tell the guys to stop for a while and take a look at what they really are doing. Some do it just because they have the required CG and most often either you get a rehashed concept from the 80’s or you end up making something so outrageous that it will never actually make it to the road. ‘The Vault’ though is a refreshingly new concept as it takes from something that is very cool looking indeed.
The Vault is about a concept which ensures that you are safe and secure in your own car and yet you happen to be in contact with the environment and surroundings and will not be isolated from them. Designed by Javier Rivera Figueredo, the design oozes both style and substance and it really catches your eye with its spectacular transparent casing. The car actually reminds me of these rare transparent frogs found in forests of South America.
The user spend the majority of time in the vault while is transported without forgetting the macro environment by where the series of relations moves, and when this series of relations is due to occur, the transparency concept generates this communication in both senses, without forgetting that we are protected. The car is really cool and Javier has done a brilliant job with the design and the spacing on the inside. Now only if this car could soon hit the roads... By the way, this is not the car you might want to go out on a date in and then cuddle up... You know what I mean!
