We’re all for green energy and energy efficient concepts, but as it is with concepts, they tend to go way off course. The GO2 Catamaran, uses piezoelectric crystals in its dance floors to generate electricity for its use. And that should probably work, because it’s designed to be a party place, only, the idea doesn’t seem to be very reliable.
From Ecofriend:
“The greenest feature of the catamaran is not that it is powered by electricity but it is the way this catamaran generates electricity for itself. The catamaran is equipped with a piezoelectric dance floor that charges the onboard deep cycle batteries using the kinetic energy of the people who are dancing on it. These batteries then power two electric motors, one on each hull, which can maintain high efficiency over a wide range of speeds.”
