I think both car fanatics and Audi could not have waited any longer that’s why Audi prematurely released photos for the much awaited new A1 concept car to be on display at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The newest from Audi is here to check out the market of BMW Mini Cooper with a little upscale and masculine design, the officials have named it as Quattro. With an Audi trade mark grille on its front, it posses an aggressive stance with the roof line and aluminum arches running along the top edge of the car.
Under the hood is a 1.4L TFSI engine which produces a mega 110KW (150 bhp), the power gets a front wheel transformation with the help of an S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox. There is also a 30KW (41hp) electric motor positioned on its rear axle delivering an extra 200Nm of torque at your command.
Making it a true Plug in option, the electric motor can surf the Metroproject out of the residential areas with a zero emission levels. Its lithium-ion batteries allows Quattro to glide 100 km just on pure electric mode and the motor can be recharged from common power sockets, the system make the car an additional 70 kg heavier.
With some other fuel efficient techniques like engine stop/start and brake energy regeneration, the fuel consumption is reduced by 15%. The car makes it from 0-100 km/h in just 7.8s with a top speed of 201km/h. The concept would consume 4.9L of fuel to travel every 100km and its CO2 emission levels have dropped to a considerable112g/km.
The car comes equipped with LED headlights and daytime running lights though these probably will not make out for the production version. The car also features a magnetic ride shock absorber technology which comes straight from Audi TT and R8. The front brakes are a little larger 312mm and the concept droves on an 18in wheels shod with 225/35 rubber.
