To make their already doing well cars more successful, car giant Toyota will upload it with more safety features. We have read numerous times on Toyota’s technology to warn oncoming collision. Now the carmaker is talking about a new rear end collision warning system - which also happens to be the world’s first system for detecting rear-end collisions before they happen.

With the help of a radar device installed in the rear bumper, any vehicle coming behind can be detected. Hazard lights are also present that flashes to warn the driver of a possible crash from behind. Besides, sensors are also installed in the front headrests to detect the position of the driver’s and front passenger’s heads, which would also shift such headrest positions to reduce the risk of whiplash injury.

Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe said such system would be installed in the Lexus LS luxury model. He told reporters at a Toyota facility west of Tokyo:

We are determined in our pursuit to develop vehicles that will have zero traffic accidents.

In addition to the ones mentioned above, there is a newly developed technology, Stereo Camera to detect pedestrians in addition to oncoming cars and other obstacles.
