Toyota has launched a new luxury-class mid-size SUV for Japan, the Vanguard. The new SUV will be available through ‘Toyopet’ and ‘Toyota Corolla’ dealers throughout Japan. There are three rows of seats aimed to accommodate seven passengers comfortably.
Vanguard will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission (5 Super ECT); A 2.4L engine paired with Super CVT-i and a seven-speed Sports Sequential Shiftmatic transmission is also available. The 2.4L model is good at fuel efficiency and can cover 12.6km for every liter of fuel it uses.
Exterior of the SUV is impressive but in no way unique. The vehicle has slim, robust headlights that curve around to its side. The hood has two sculpted lines that reach the fog lights, which are pretty distinctive.
Interior has a two-tier instrument panel that gives a feeling of roominess and makes the cabin seem more comfortable and inviting. Leather and Alcantara have been used on the seats to give them a plush look. This SUV is also equipped with an HDD navigation system and the Smart Entry & Start System.
