Remember I presented the news about Toyota recalling about 210,000 Land Cruiser Prados worldwide. Here is more - Toyota announced yesterday that it would recall about 1 million vehicles globally. About 565,756 vehicles (Allex, Isis, Wish, Prius, Corolla, Corolla Runx, Corolla Fielder, Corolla Spacio, and Ractis) manufactured somewhere around September 2002 and November 2005 are the casualties.
The decision was taken after the company discovered that intermediate shafts and sliding yokes of the vehicles were faulty. Though no accident due to the defect has been reported, Toyota is still cautious and finds recalling the machines in order to replace the fault is required.
A Toyota spokesman said the recall would also cover about 400,000 units overseas.
