Toyota is recalling 30,000 Scion TC Sports Coupes over concerns that the side airbags are deployed if the Front door is slammed forcefully. The number of recalled vehicles amounts upto 20% of the total models produced in 2005 and 2006.
Toyota has received reports about 17 incidents in which the air bags were deployed, luckily though no accidents, injuries or deaths were reported. Toyota would replace the airbag sensors at no charge.
This sports coupe is available for purchase only in the US ... Big Brother is not deprived of cars that have great safety features , considering this, Toyota has no other option other than recalling those cars and getting them fixed with precision .
