When does one come out harsh with his trimming scissors at a vehicle? The first circumstance would be that the commuter is conked, the second that despite the model being fairly new, it fails to impress the driver and the third that the tuner is a nostalgia driven geek. In the Magnum’s case pictured above, I persist with the latter two reasons. The magnum was revived in the year 2004, so even if we believe that this station wagon was trimmed this very year; it still qualifies as a fairly new model. Pertaining to the craze factor, the tuner seems a 50’s hit nostalgic character driven by the idea of clad wheels and fleet lines. All that said, he could also be a copycat for he has taken hints form a 1: 18 scale model of a Magnum R/T , a major proof of which are the big rims entry into that vintage feel vehicle. I had the car photos of this car with the cars the owner was parked with at the event, which were what he said were his inspiration, and since he couldn’t afford an original, he improvised with the added benefit of modern brakes, air conditioning, warranty etc. See the other posts of the event for the vehicles he was imitating, ’cause he didn’t work off a 1:18th scale model for his inspiration.
