2008 Indianapolis 500 will see a pair of Corvettes as the official pace cars. The first car is the Corvette Z06 E85 Concept. Corvette 30th Anniversary Pace Car is a replica of the 1978 model, black exterior with silver graphics Interiors will feature two-tone titanium-color interior, with the Indianapolis 500 logo embroidered on the seats.
Commemorative edition cars will come with Corvette’s 3LT option package, Z51 performance package and dual-mode exhaust. Power will come from a LS3 small block V8 that delivers 436 hp and you can choose between six-speed manual or six-speed paddle-shift automatic transmissions. Available in coupe and convertible versions, each commemorative edition car will be personally signed and numbered by Emerson Fittipaldi, who will also drive the Z06 E85 concept at Indy 500.
