As Europe moves to reduce CO2 emissions, fast cars could run head-on into trouble. New laws could sent ultra-wide high performance tires off the road, as Europe tries to reduce rolling resistance to 10.5kg per tonne by 2014. Only half the vehicles currently on the road comply with this regulation, but the commission believes that advances in technology will bring most of the cars in the safe zone.
The brunt, however, will be borne by some of the fastest cars on the road today. It looks like Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Murcielago and Ferrari Enzo will not be able to make the cut.
