There’s nothing quite like the Buggati Veyron, a mid-engine sports car produced by Volkswagen Group. Quad-turbo’s, 1000hp, over 400km/h, it doesn’t get better than that unless Bugatti builds another car to outclass itself. The talks of a special model has been doing the rounds since the beginning; however, the recent scoop is that a faster Veyron is currently in development. A leaked memo alleged to be an official document suggests that before its arrival there will be a special edition of the Veyron simply called the ‘GT’.

There are only few specifications on the new car, but according to the memo, the Veyron GT will basically be a typical Veyron with more power and a few minor modifications. Apparently, 1,350hp (1,007kW) and 1,018lb-ft (1,380Nm) of torque, which is enough to take it to a new top speed of 264mph (425km/h). The vehicle will be upgraded with carbon-ceramic brakes, a new electronic stability program, and a revised active aerodynamics package. With all this the Veyron GT will run from 0-62mph (100km/h) in just 2.4 seconds and will go back to zero in just 2.2 seconds. The stats for the fastest GT ever are pretty astonishing to the point that it seems as if only F1 drivers are fit enough to drive it like it should be driven.

If you are one among the few people who can readily own a $1.4 million dollar Veyron, then this car is worth the look out. According to the so-called memo, all Veyrons will be installed with the upgrade. Sounds a little too dreamy, doesn’t it? Anyway, the launch date is scheduled for the Geneva Motor Show in March next year. I know that the concept of a faster Veyron is exciting, but Bugatti is yet to release an official statement on the car so it could all just be rumor. Personally I think Veyron is a super-car, as everything right from the interiors, body, comfort, and of course the performance is top notch. However, rumors of the Veyron GT could be an offshoot of a bored teenager, as this new edition seems too good to be true according to me!
