The Beast:

Vintage cars are a real treat to those who really can appreciate the evolution of these vehicles. While there are many vintage cars out there that adorn the cabins of the big boys like Ferrari and Jaguar, here is a car that bet the best of those cars in its heyday. I guess I really need not tell the story of ‘Old Yeller’. But if you need a bit of clarification on that either you can go back to Disney’s archives or just take a look at some very good promo work from two great professional wrestlers earlier this year. The point being, a car named Old Yeller is supposed to be at the fag end of its career. But these cars are nothing like that.

The Machine:

Put together by hot Rod legend Max Balchowski, the Ol’ Yeller series of cars were built from junkyard stuff. But they were highly refined and his collection of 10 such cars was very successful as they raced across the US to beat teams like Ferrari, BMW and Jaguar. The Mark III is a part of that collection and its 414-cubic inch Buick nailhead v-8 engine won many races when in prime. The design dates back to the classic race car aerodynamics of the 50’s and 60’s. The car though still seems to be in great condition with glitzy chrome shining bright.

The Thrill:

The car of the 50’s can still be driven around the track with control and pace. While it does not match the pace of even the street version of modern sports cars, it still is a feeling that is unmatched. Rather than the driving experience, it is the sense of history and nostalgic moments that come with the car which steal the show.
