The scorching hot Jetta is all set to make its way to US shores after the final car details have been confirmed and adjusted. The car has been a very high profile launch and many have been anxiously waiting for it to arrive. The stunning look and the latest technology under the hood make this Volkswagen one of the biggest hits in recent times. Now the big shot is all ready to set wheel on American roads. Volkswagen has at last finished working on its 60 mpg Jetta BlueTDI diesel, and not only does it look great, but it’s coming to America later this year.
The company announced at this week’s International Vienna Motor Symposium in Austria that the new diesel Jetta uses an updated version of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with common-rail direct injection. Dubbed BlueTDI, the engine produces 138 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. It’s good for 60 mpg on the highway, a 12-percent improvement over the 2006 Jetta TDI.

The Jetta BlueTDI meets the EPA’s Bin 5/LEV 2 emissions standard after the engine has been designed keeping the strict emission norms in mind. This means that you can drive one of these in any state of the country and it is legal to own one everywhere. The Jetta BlueTDI arrives in Volkswagen showrooms late this summer. Look for a price about $2,000 higher than its gasoline counterpart, which starts at $16,990. At that price it still is a very good buy and that is exactly why it has generated so much of anticipation.

This hot Jetta concept car sorta cool but I honestly don’t like the paint body of the car. Doesn’t jive with the concept car.

Yes, but many still want to get their hands behind the wheel of this baby and it is pretty cool barring the body work on it. Must agree on that though that it really takes away rather than add something to the car. Hot piece though...
