vw golf world car of the year

The sixth generation Golf emerged the winner at the New York Auto Show and walked away with the crown of the World Car of the Year. The timing couldn’t have been better for the Golf, which is also about to go on sale in the USA. Golf VI was chosen over a competition of hundred cars by a panel of 59 journalists from 25 countries. It comes with a 1.4-l turbocharged engine that generates 158hp, and another 2.0-l turbocharged engine.

In other categories, Honda Clarity FCX walked away with the cleanest car title, the Fiat 500 walked away with the World Car Design award and the Nissan GT-R was named the meanest car of the planet.
