Two car making giants are all set to go head-to-head in a tussle to determine the best car in its class. Volkswagen is all set to launch the Passat DC and the car is aimed by the German car makers as direct competition to the Mercedes CLS and it would be interesting to see who wins this battle of the giants. The car has been presented at the Geneva Motor Show and it is all set to hit the stores and the road very soon. Volkswagen is all set to give the big Merc a run for its money with this baby.
The Passat DC looks as gorgeous as the CLS, if not more and has a look that is probably more natural and down to ground than the CLS. In specifications, it is very similar to the British car. It will be available with various engines, from a 140 hp to a 300. Other features include Lane Assist, which keeps track inside the lane except for the activation of intermittent, Dynamic Drive Control, an electronic control system chassis, the Park Assist, assistant parking, and the Front Assist, assistant to reduce braking distances. The car is pretty stylish and would be a favorite the moment it set wheel on road.
The one thing that tilts the battles in the favor of Volkswagen is the price of the car, which is a lot lower the CLS. The car will be available to the consumer in a couple of months and then it will be interesting to watch if it can eat in to the Mercedes market considerably. Mercedes I suppose will rely on its brand value to make sure it keeps its customers. The battle will be interesting to watch anyway. I think the Passat DC will win this one.
