Surprisingly, the Volkswagen Slipstream has walked away with the trophy for the Design Challenge Robocar 2057. The design team lead by Derek Jenkins created a design that could be ideal for the future.
For city cruising, the Slipstream operates vertically to use minimum space, on the highways though, the car goes into horizontal orientation with the capability of touching 250mph. Judges for the LA Design Challenge called this year’s contest the toughest to judge in the four year history of this competition.
The winning design brought its creators a trophy, which is a cyborg hand that plays Beethoven and bears LEDs that display the title of the contest. We had written about all competitors for the Design Challenge Robocar 2057 a while back, you can have a look at them by clicking here.
