You can have your cake and eat it too with the new Tiguan from Volkswagen. The Tiguan is a SUV that combines a segment topping frugality of 40.4 mpg with some serious power and torque beneath it’s hood. The Tiguan has a very efficient and powerful common rail diesel engine with power rating of 170 PS and a locomotive like torque of 258 lb/ft. And the greens too will be happy with the Tiguan as it produces only 185 grams of CO2 per kilometre.
All this power and torque propels the Tiguan to a very respectable top speed of 125 mph and nought to sixty comes in 8.2 seconds. Safety and stability also ride along with the Tiguan’s six airbags and electronic stability program. Other goodies are a semi automatic climate control and a touchscreen entertainment panel. The Tiguan’s base version goes for GBP 22670 with the sport version being marginally more expensive at GBP 23370.
