Volkswagen has released details of the Touareg R50 just before its scheduled premiere at the Sydney Motor Show on October 11. Touareg R50 goes high on power with the 5.0L V10 TDi delivering 258kW of power and 850Nm of torque. Transmission is six-speed automatic.
The production SUV accelerates from zero to 100kmph in 7.4 seconds and has a top speed of 235kmph. A 100km stretch of the highway would use nearly 9.6 liters of fuel while the average fuel efficiency stands at 12.6 liters for 100km.
Touareg R50 will be offered in five shades. The vehicle gets 21-inch alloy wheels, a sports design package that includes side skirts and distinctive bumpers and a modified radiator grille in matte finish chrome. The chassis has been lowered by 20mm.
Interiors sport anthracite colored Nappa leather with R50 logo on the headrests, the R50 logo is also present on the tread plates and the gearshift lever. Touareg R50 will hit the showrooms in November with a price tag of €88,260.
