It is natural that Europe’s biggest automaker comes strong at one of the biggest car shows. Volkswagen has planned a big marketing campaign with the IAA in Frankfurt (13th to 23rd September).

Volkswagen will display 50 models in the show, eight of them world premiers. The new models include Tiguan, a new generation SUV slated to complement the Touareg. A futuristic prototype will be Volkswagen’s response to IAA’s official motto, ’see what’s driving tomorrow’. Six new BlueMotion models will also debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, taking the tally of BlueMotion models to nine in 2008.

The Tiguan will occupy the centrestage in Volkswagen’s gallery. Tiguan comes with a four-cylinder diesel engine with common-rail injection. Two new TDIs from the company produce 103 kW/140 PS and 125 kW/170 PS. Both these engines already comply with Euro 5 emission norms.

Volkswagen believes its BlueMotion environment label will become a byword for effective environment protection. BlueMotion is the most environment friendly label from Volkswagen. The Polo BlueMotion covers 100km in 3.8 liters and exhales 99g/km of Carbon dioxide.

With a number of vehicle launches and concepts from corporations around the globe waiting for the Frankfurt Auto Show, we can expect a number of launches and prototypes there.
