For anyone who’s been on the road with a trailer attached to the car, a wobbling trailer can be a huge nightmare. Volvo has developed a Trailer Stability Assist to stabilize wobbling trailers. Gaining control over wobbly trailers can be a tricky job, and Volvo’s system does this by analyzing the wobbling tendencies and applying brakes to one or more of the car’s wheels to keep the trailer in check. If these measures don’t work, the system pushes brakes for all wheels and cuts engine power till control over the trailer is regained. The TSA comes into action at speeds above 50kmph and is available on the XC60 with a towing hook attached.
