Trucks are considered as the spinal cords of the transportation system. Volvo trucks has launched VOLVO FH16 that boasts to be the line of most powerful trucks. The range of these 16-litre engine trucks has been extended from 660 hp and 580 hp and torque of 3100 Nm and 2800 Nm respectively to 540 hp and torque of 2600 Nm.

The 540 hp 16-litre engine is best suited for haulers in the 40-tonne segment as it can maintain a high average speed in hilly regions. It also features Volvo Engine Brake (VEB+) and the I-Shift intelligent gear-shifting system for better drivability in slopes.

The 540 hp engine can be fitted with either I-Shift, which is a 12-speed electronically controlled mechanical splitter and range-change gearbox, or a manual 14-speed splitter and range-change gearbox. All three power levels of D16 are now available for commercial use in Euro 4 versions. The exhaust gases are treated with AdBlue and SCR catalysts for low air pollution.

The transport companies will duly adopt these trucks as they can ensure on time delivery of their goods and help the companies to make some goodwill in the market.
