
In line with its own accident research project, Volvo Group will start working with 40 voluntary humanitarian aid organisations worldwide. The new venture plans to raise awareness about traffic safety issues, and help reduce the number of accidents. According to the declaration of intent signed, Volvo Group’s own accident research team will study causes of accidents and bring recommendations for its reduction.
The organizations is a joint initiative of WFP (UN World Food Program)>, IFRC (International Federation of the Red Cross) and World Vision International and comes under the umbrella Fleet Forum. These organizations, will receive data sheets that are collected from mid-2006 by Volvo’s team.
The project will continue until 2009, presenting a total of three reports, first of which will be completed in 2007.
