Volvo may introduce XC60 at GenevaThe crossover vehicles’ market has been selling well, and
Volvo has done good business in this segment. Such success should naturally
prompt the automaker to introduce new vehicles into the segment. This apparently,
is what Volvo has in mind. The automaker is likely to introduce a crossover,
the XC 60 at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The vehicle is likely to go into production soon after,
going on sale by late 2008 or early next year. Volvo has remained quiet on the
engine specs of the new model, but a 1.8L petrol unit is likely to be placed
under the hood. A 2.5-L turbo and 3.2-L are likely to follow. Options in the
diesel range will include 1.8-L and 2.3-L units.
