Volkswagen has been busy of late making noise with its super-frugal, super-clean, ultra-low emissions BlueMotion diesel powertrain, but it hasn’t been neglecting petrol power either.

The company has managed to make the first generation of TSI technology that combines a supercharger and a turbocharger in one unit to generate 2.0-litre power and 1.6-litre economy from a 1.4-litre engine and that boasts to be the world’s first seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.

The award-winning TSI engines with a power output of 103 kW and 125 kW are popular choices, for example for the Golf and Touran and the next in the line is 90 kW TSI. All these engines are based on compressor exhibit low end torque gains of up to 66 percent that further improves the performance but has a low consumption and very low emission rates.

Now let’s talk about the World’s first seven-speed DSG gearbox for volume models that will make a perfect combination with your TSI engines to produce some excellent consumption figures and convenience. The clutches of the new gearbox do not run in an oil bath that is said to further improve the efficiency. It is available for vehicles from the Polo to the Passat. The transferable maximum torque is equivalent to a maximum of 250 Newton metres.

I think this is an awesome package.
