First presented at the annual VW meeting in the year 2002, the super ambitious one liter per 100km ‘one-liter’ car from Volkswagen is all set to hit production and we can well see the limited-edition fuel saver make its street debut in 2010. The petite hot-dog shaped two seater features a carbon fiber monocoque that looks very claustrophobic and looks more like a robot transportation pod than a street car.

Thanks to its slimline figure, the car should do wonders for parking, but the aircraft-style canopy door looks incredibly dangerous for other cars in the parking.

VW insiders say the car is expected to sell for a figure between €20,000 (£16,000) to €30,000 (£24,000) though quite frankly, I’m not sure anyone will buy it to commute to office everyday.

What a very small car... Is what I’m seeing really true? Though it’s so small, it’s nice to know that it’s very functional. It is something that could be classified as one of the gas saving products.
