The iconic VW Transporter is still parked in the hearts of people, though it has been out of production for quite a while now. Designer Adam Danko’s van is his design reincarnation of the classic VW Transporter T1. This futuristic looking concept follows the design theme of the Transporter, and adds a few modern tidbits to the design; front of the van holds the VW badge and headlamps, much like the original, and of course, the shape also does follow a similar trajectory.
VW Van’s body is made of metal girders for shape, followed by a special glass to complete the body. The glass remains opaque when viewed from outside, and is transparent for those inside the van, wheels on the concept have been pushed to the corners for better distribution of weight. Power comes from an electric motor (150-200 PS), and solar cells are mounted on the roof for auxiliary power.
The design exercise looks like a toy, especially with those flowery wheels we see, and the full-box like look of the concept. With a little polishing on the curves and shape, and obviously, with better wheels, the concept could be improved upon a lot. But then, it’s only a design exercise and in our opinion, pretty good at that.

Thanks, Adam
