concept cx imag1Mitsubishi will bring its New Generation SUV, the Concept-cX to the Frankfurt Motor Show. For now, the company has unveiled sketches of the new concept. The new SUV will tackle environmental issues well; it is compliant with Euro 5 emission standards.

concept cx image 2The concept car comes with a high-output, high-efficiency 1.8-liter clean diesel engine, featuring a variable geometry (VG) turbocharger for optimum boost control and a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) with diesel particulate filter (DPF) in the exhaust system. A long list, but that is not all!

This new vehicle will also feature Mitsubishi’s new twin clutch SST (Sports Shift Transmission) for an excellent fuel economy and low emissions. What’s more, the vehicle gives consideration to our ecology; Mitsubishi’s own Green Plastic (made of bamboo and plant based resins) has been used extensively for interior trims in the vehicle. A compact 4100mm body and split tailgate are other impressive features of this concept.

Concept-cX uses Mitsubishi’s electronically controlled 4WD system through 225/45R19 tires.

Mitsubishi has not brought us a gas-guzzler, but a fuel efficient SUV. Fuel-efficient and SUV, together these two words sound a bit out of place, but that’s where the future of SUVs lies. New emission norms the world over say one thing clearly to the gas-guzzlers: ‘Get clean or get going’.
