Water TAXI concept created by Studio Thijssen is a rather unique urban mobility initiative that seeks to not only revolutionize transport in the city of Antwerp but also have it stand as a symbol of the region itself. Much like the iconic cabs and buses of London, the gondolas of Venice and the rickshaws of Bangkok, the Water TAXI too aims at becoming a characteristic symbol of the Dutch city itself. Even though water transport is by no means a predominant mode of urban mobility in the city, the ambitious Water Taxi concept seeks to make it synonymous with the town as a tourist attraction. With an enclosed capsule providing a panoramic view of the surroundings, the taxi sure seems like a great idea for tourist-centric transportation solutions!
