What you see here is a “perfected” wind powered supercharger created by LeMons team Freerange Racing. The supercharger is made from HVAC ducting blades connected to a flex plate and geared to the starter shaft. This supercharger pushes 1PSI of boost at 65 mph, and we wonder if it gets to be called an environmentally friendly supercharger; you know, because it’s wind powered and all that.
The supercharger for the $500 race car perhaps isn’t very useful, and its razor sharp blades may not be very comforting, but as Jalopnik writes, “It probably creates more drag than it overcomes with power, and it’s a clattering madness-maker but wow, talk about cool.”
