The world’s smallest working train set is a “real” miniature thing, it is built on a scale of 1:35200, and measures just 1/8 of an inch x 1/4 of an inch. The best part of course is that the set is functional, even with those miniature dimensions. Created by David Smith, the model has a five-carriage train traveling around an oval route.
The miniature will be a part of Smith’s fictitious village model called James River Branch. And no, it is not going to be a train for the village, but is intended as a model for the model shop of the village. Though it required a whole lot of skill, the model did not require truckloads of cash. In fact, the train model cost Smith just £6. Smith has spent nearly two and a half years creating the James River Branch model village, and we guess it is going to be one awesome village when complete.
