I really do not understand why people needed to cover the whole car and for that take a long shot of this picture. I really, really could have used that close up shot of the model you know. I know that the car is the thing we are covering and it is important to get it in the shot, but these days there are clothing ads where the model wears nothing then I really do not see why we could not get a few more pics here. Anyway that fuss aside, let us talk about the X.P.AC. 400 Air Car for now.

This car is a ground effects machine and rides on a five inch cushion of air and can run on land or water, has no wheels, transmission or rear end. Plus, no frictional moving parts. Air is drawn in through the front and rear openings into the open plenum chamber with outlets through a combination of peripheral jet inserts. Four inch polyethylene circular skirt is installed on the lower portion of the body. I have always like Hovercraft concepts and this one is really cool too.

Power is two jet aircraft starter motors 24 volt D.C., 4 horse power that turns 40,000 rpm at 300 amps. This is reduced 8 to 1 to absorb the amount of load combination of horsepower. Balanced 20 inches cast aluminum fans push 11,800 C.I.M. free flows & under 7/8″ static water pressure has 7,600 C.I.M., dry weight of the car is 422 pounds including all the accessories. The car is coated and painted beautifully and hopefully this one will make sure that more concepts like this surface and flourish.
