We’re sure a better vehicle and styling could be found to pay tribute to Toyota’s Racing Heritage. The Yaris Club displayed at SEMA, has no roof, no interiors, a lowered windshield and a tonneau to make it a single seater certainly doesn’t fit the bill. With looks so fugly they could kill, the Yaris Club does manage to get a hold on the performance department, for the Yaris at least. With a supercharger thrown in, the 1.6-l petrol engine now delivers 166hp.
Top Gear’s assessment is what we’d totally go with. As they put it, “we don’t want to drive it. Not now, not ever, not even wearing a blue hat with a bell on the end.”
