reincarnated version of the 1938 aprilia roadster
I last heard of Zagato when it was included in the scheme of things with the Dutch manufacturer Spyker for its controversial model C12. We know that financial constraints pushed back the model to a limited production that too for the Spyker owners only but the design was appreciably good, courtesy that tip from Zagato. This time around the Spanish design firm had taken on the onus of redesigning a vintage beauty taking inspiration from some faded pictures of a car designed by Ugo Zagato way back in 1938. A vintage coachbuilt roadster, it was dubbed the 1938 Lancia roadster.

Reincarnated as the Zagato Lancia Aprilia Sport, the vintage looking modern spider understandably hosts a meek Aprilia Motorcycle Engine capable of producing 48 hp at 4300rpm. A mild engine calls for a lucid topspeed of 78mph but we would buy that for the fact which isn’t worth a mention. We can only buy the fact keeping our hands off the original piece for only 9 of these masterpieces would be made, each with a more than healthy tagging of €150,000.
