Eco-Friendly cars have finally started getting recognition as in a latest development the pioneer of Electric Cars, ZAP bagged a whopping $79 million order from Chicago based Electric vehicle company .
Electric Vehicle Company or the EVC is a company that promotes non-polluting Electric Transport. This company will focus on selling these electric cars to municipalities, universities, dealerships. Simultaneously it aims at setting up the first retail chain dealing in Electric Vehicles specifically.
As per the ZAP CEO Steve Schneider, the order also includes electric trucks and other vehicles. He also mentioned that if EVC succeeds in filling the orders within the next twelve months , ZAP would give them an overall discount of 8% although there are other norms as per the agreement between the two which to have to be adhered to .

We believe this order, which constitutes thousands of vehicles, is the largest order for consumer electric vehicles in history. Many municipalities have been talking recently about mitigating greenhouse gas emissions, so we are grateful to be involved in this historic effort.
I am not so sure EVC will get the discount if the purchasing depends on pure customer rationale. The only way they can manage to get the discount is if the government aids them by devising policies, which favor the purchase of non-polluting cars and considering the way things are shaping up( In terms of new norms being laid down), the govt is more than willing to contribute .
