What you see here is a “perfected” wind powered supercharger created by LeMons team Freerange Racing. The supercharger is made from HVAC ducting blades connected to a flex plate and geared to the starter shaft. This supercharger pushes 1PSI of boost at 65 mph, and we wonder if it gets to be called an environmentally friendly supercharger; you know, because it’s wind powered and all that.

There happen to be just two rotary carbon fiber weavers in existence, and Toyota has put one of them to work for creating the carbon fiber A-pillar for the Lexus LFA supercar. The V10 powered supercar is impressive, but watching the LFA’s A-pillar form is quite mesmerizing. Video after the jump!

Carpooling is a bright idea, Carpool LED top lights, not so much. The concept by designers Xi Ouyang, Yuanbiao Jin, Yao Sun and Yelu Liu takes isn’t bad at heart, it is bad in practice. Carpool could be super efficient if all seats in the car are taken, and to take care of that part, the concept envisions top lights, quite similar to the bright yellow Taxi signs, that also clearly show the number of vacant seats in the car. So the carpool could let more people sit in, and people would know if there’s a vacant seat in the car. Also, an embedded fan harnesses energy from the wind to keep the lights running. And also, this is all quite dumb.

Photographer Laurent Nivalle has brought out the beauty in a century of Bugatti through his photographs that capture the marque in a very unique and striking way. Nivalle’s photographs keep focus on the car’s mechanical part, rather than the complete car. The photographer has not used digital tools on the images for his ‘1909 Bugatti 2009’ series, but has created them in a vintage, and vivid look, making them a lot more appealing.

Recently, MotorTrend put three tuned muscle cars to the test, and well, there’s nothing like a drag race to soup things up a bit. The competing cars were the 705hp Chevrolet Camaro HPE650, the 725hp Shelby Mustang GT500 super snake, and a 700hp SpeedFactory Dodge Challenger SRT8. Nothing like pure muscle roaring down the road! Checkout the video to see the winner, and click here to read MotorTrend’s road test.

We’ve seen a whole lot of Batmobile replicas, but this one is just a bit too weird and off the line to be called a Batmobile. Perhaps it’s the black paintjob and the wing-like things that earn it the title of being a Batmobile replica, or maybe it’s the strange windscreen, it is tough to be certain.

AIDA is a project created by MIT’s Personal Robots Group, the SENSEable city lab and Volkswagen Group of America’s Electronics Research Lab. The cute robot is lovingly called AIDA, but its real name is a long Affective Intelligent Driving Agent. It sits on the dash and not only takes over the duties of the navigation system, but also keeps a track of the driver’s preferences and driving style.
