Unveiled today at the 2008 British Motor Show, Project Eagle has finally made its public debut as the Evora. The mid-engine 2+2 is powered by a Lotus-tuned 3.5-litre V6 engine that can generate 280 PS. weighing just 2,976 lbs; the Evora is expected to deliver breathtaking performance on road too as preliminary testing around Nürburgring showed it to be extremely agile and sporty even with full development disguise on.

The car shall be arriving at dealerships in the U.K. sometime in the spring of 2009, and with only 2,000 of the limited edition vehicle being made shall make the £45,000 price tag look like a bargain.

BRB Evolution: Folding up in to the available space! http://www.automotto.org/entry/brb-evolution-folding-up-in-to-the-available-space/ http://www.automotto.org/entry/brb-evolution-folding-up-in-to-the-available-space/#comments attitude brb-1_AyTsn_7071

There are many concept cars around today thanks to the way technology has spread its wings to help even the most simple of innovators give shape to their ideas. There are also many concept cars that are around which will hopefully one day hit the road as they seem to be a wonderful alternate to the available models filled with green features and loaded with design improvements that really are of great use in everyday life. The modern car design is function specific and most often targets a certain sect of the consumers in a very astute fashion so as to ensure that it carves a niche for itself. The BRB Evolution is for the eco-conscious consumer who hates to spin around in circles for a parking lot. In other words- it is for all of us!

The BRB Evolution is a very interesting concept apart from the name itself which is pretty nice if you ask me. The BRB is a car designed to free you up from parking hassles and to reduce the energy consumed by all those parking lots by reducing the parking space. The car jacks up on its nose and with that simple step it saves up on 50% of the normal parking space taken up by a similar sized car. Inspired by Peugeot 908 and Lamborghini Murcielago the BRB is a masterpiece carved for modern city commuter.

brb-2_KuKYH_7071

Daniel Bailey, the designer, figured the two of the main problems of the future in big cities would be the pollution and over population, he wanted to design a car which powered by electricity and a hydrogen fuel cell to deal with the pollution issue, while the fold-able concept is to help with the limited available parking space. BRB Car Concept will surely have plenty of takers when it hits the roads but the only problem seems to be about it actually making it there. Let us wait and watch on this concept car too!

Mean Machine: Modified Cobra of Randy Schratz's http://www.automotto.org/entry/mean-machine-modified-cobra-of-randy-schratzs/ http://www.automotto.org/entry/mean-machine-modified-cobra-of-randy-schratzs/#comments attitude yellow-car-1_Jxw2I_7071

I always thought that the name Cobra was a bit too much for this car and more so when you consider that the not so modified versions of the car are not half as cool as this one and surely not going to stun you with their venomous look. This one though has been thoroughly redone to make sure that it actually becomes a pretty competitive car on its own. Unfortunately we have not been able to garner much about what lies under the hood of this modified version.

yellow-car-2_DyGfp_7071

Randy Schratz ran his Cobra in the exhibition class, and it was the first car up the hill. The kit that have been used to modify it and what is the actually capability of the car are unknown but apparently Randy uses it to move around on a daily basis. I’m pretty sure the rear wheel modification must have got plenty of attention to this Cobra.

A rover designed to sustain man’s mission on Mars! http://www.automotto.org/entry/a-rover-designed-to-sustain-man-s-mission-on-mars/ http://www.automotto.org/entry/a-rover-designed-to-sustain-man-s-mission-on-mars/#comments attitude space-1_HoH8u_7071
If you thought that we were here only to transport you across the planet on the most lavish vehicles and get you the bling and the bang of the auto world which is limited to cars, bikes and trikes then you could not be more far off from truth. We love the entire universe as much we love our own planet and if given a chance we would want to cover every mile of it on the best possible car. (Car and not bike as it is my personal choice). Of course we are not irresponsible enough to trash the universe along in the magical journey and hence it would be preferably in a car that does zero-harm and leaves everything untouched. That may not yet be possible but we do have a rover that can weave its way on the Martian surface!

space-2_Au3ZQ_7071

The Outset Project was designed to make sure that we happen to make Mars one day our second home and the project not only looks to just step on Mars but make it a home away from home. This incredible project aims to sustain stuff for well over a few years by building artificial colonies on the Martian soil. Now to build a whole city you will need something to transport you across the Martian turf and so here is have the rover for the job.

space-3_s1dj3_7071

This actually does not look like anything that is a part of a sci-fi movie but more than the looks it is the purpose that matters. It is more akin to a huge drum placed on eight wheels an that is to put it in the crudest form. It is of course designed by the very best and it has all the features to face up to the harsh and weather of the planet which for now seems highly inhospitable. Let us hope that this whole project and this very special rover do indeed become a reality one day.

Caran Design Concept: A traffic system for 2020! http://www.automotto.org/entry/caran-design-concept-a-traffic-system-for-2020/ http://www.automotto.org/entry/caran-design-concept-a-traffic-system-for-2020/#comments attitude per-4_J4btt_7071

We have always been so fascinated about flying and getting our feet off the ground that for the majority part of uncovering new and daring concept designs of modern cars has been spent on finding the ones which take the wheels off of the roads. While it is true that cars that could move on water do the same thing, the opportunity for such designs is limited to say the least. That is exactly why Per Brickstad has designed a car that moves on rail and on road simultaneously and it is designed with intent to reduce pollution, increase efficiency and change the ways of public transport. So would it really work?

per-3_pfTAK_7071

Mobility in the modern world is acquiring a new meaning each day with people wanting their cars to do stuff and go places unlike any other time in the past. This new and innovative design for Caran Cars in Sweden allows us to use the car both on road and rail. This unique design helps the car charge up while it is on the rail and that charge is used to drive it on road! The concept is sure to be taken warmly to as it not only is luxurious, lavish and stylish but it saves on space and reduces pollution by advocating a green mode of transport.

per-5_AxvGY_7071

The car’s front seems more like its back with the headlights placed behind the windscreen and turning off when the light is not really needed making them invisible. The bumper of the car opens up like the door of a flight so that your royal feet get the right landing when you open your door which is more like a hood in this case. The design of the car and the execution coupled with the green intent make the Caran Concept Car a sure success. Let’s just wait for this one to hit both the road and the rail!

Wheebo: A cool new combination of skateboarding and bike riding! http://www.automotto.org/entry/wheebo-a-cool-new-combination-of-skateboarding-and-bike-riding/ http://www.automotto.org/entry/wheebo-a-cool-new-combination-of-skateboarding-and-bike-riding/#comments attitude u4_8xXJW_69
This is an absolutely fantastic concept and something that will surely become a huge hit among the young guys who one day might end up making this a part of the X-Games on ESPN. Wheebo is a colorful and wonderful combination of a bike that comes with the thrills of skateboarding but will avoid many of those spills. The Wheebo is largely akin to the circus bike that you see the clowns on but this one comes with an extra wheel and a very colorful mudguard and that should please a lot of people who complain about lack of mudguards in modern concept designs!

bike-2_NMIdV_7071

The Wheebo is light weight and it also pretty comfortable to carry around. The space that the Wheebo saves is a lot compared to a traditional bike and it also is loads of fun if you are not really above 25 and have a heart to have plenty of fun. Now many might shoot it down as a circus bike with wheels for balance and stability, but with the way radical sports are developing these days you never know where this might end up. So just stay tuned!

The pride and joy of German officers in World War II, Tatra T87 is also a prized piece in the extensive and eclectic collection of celebrated American entertainer Jay Leno. Not being just an airheaded collector with a seriously unhindered cash flow, Leno actually knows his cars almost inside out and leaves almost no stones unturned in giving everyone an expansive and detailed summary of the history and geography of the car that was once nicknamed Czechoslovakia’s “Secret Weapon”.

Of course Leno’s version of the car’s background is every bit as entertaining and insightful as his witticisms on The Tonight Show and perhaps he might even consider doing this full time after he bows out from the NBC gig in May 2009. Watch Jay in action with the Tatra below.

Good news car lovers. A successor to the legendary Citroen 2CV is rumored to be in the works albeit in a thoroughly modern interpretation of the classic design. And designer David Portela is reinterpreting the classic model in celebration. In order to retain the charm of the original 2CV, the concept features the same curved bonnet, slab sides and covered rear wheels. Keeping trademark details such as the slatted bonnet, the concept features flush modernistic panoramic windows and Steampunky exteriors.

Using a structural style that is both “retro” as well as avant-garde at the same time, the Citroën 2CV concept truly delivers as a futuristic interpretation that can certainly find a place for itself in times to come.

Caravan’s Comfort: A design that extends your mobile home! http://www.automotto.org/entry/caravan-s-comfort-a-design-that-extends-your-mobile-home/ http://www.automotto.org/entry/caravan-s-comfort-a-design-that-extends-your-mobile-home/#comments attitude caravan-1_qYkU2_7071
Caravans may not be really a home that many prefer but many might like to hire one out when they are on that long family trip to somewhere or maybe it is a bit of a compulsion for some people to live in. In any case, it is not very often that you happen to get new concept designs for a caravan and especially not ones that are as carefully and wonderfully crafted as this one. The new Caravan Concept by designer and creator Menno Kroezen is quite simple and attractive making it standout in a world surrounded by millions of concept cars and bikes.

This special Caravan has been designed to extend your home in to the environment around you without actually having to leave the comfort of your cozy Caravan. This is like taking in the freshness of the outdoors when you are still enjoying the comforts of the indoor. This is done by adding a veranda on the back of the caravan which ensures that one really need not step outside for that breath of fresh air!

caravan-2_TQJEf_7071

The veranda acts as a bridge between the outdoors and the indoors by forming a structural unity with the interiors and a visual unity to certain extent with the outdoors. The veranda has foldaway chairs and it would be a great place to rest and have your evening cup of coffee. A fine yet simple design, this Caravan is truly unique.

More and more of the concept car designs are taking center stage with various sites encouraging every individual who believes that they have the talent to design a car. The Dechno Racer is one of the models that falls in the exact same category as it is apparently crafted by another young and imaginative designer who sees his car being a lot more than the conventional car which actually reveals very little.

car-2_2zizW_7071

The Dechno Racer’s semi-translucent side cutout shows a glimpse of not only the door mechanics, but the occupants inside. Its graphic shape leads the eye forward to accentuate the dash to axle ratio as well as give an overall sense of forward motion to the vehicle. The car surely has a very unique look o it and the side-cut is a very interesting idea that might be incorporated by many other cars in the future. The aerodynamics and the overall design are also pretty solid and there is no reason why cars like this could not be more common on the roads in near future.

British Motor Show goes electric with Nice MyCar http://www.automotto.org/entry/british-motor-show-goes-electric-with-nice-mycar/ http://www.automotto.org/entry/british-motor-show-goes-electric-with-nice-mycar/#comments DeshRaj one_UfegY_11446
The Nice MyCar - a competitor for the G-Wiz - two-seat electric city car will be in sight at the British Motor Show on Wednesday. Designed by Giugiaro design studio and built in Hong Kong, MyCar is being offered with two years’ warranty. What’s really nice about NICE is its running cost that’s very low. Owners would have to pay just about 2p per mile, not to miss; lot depends upon electricity tariff used to charge the automobile. MyCar can achieve 40mph, and around can stay powered for 40 miles between recharges. Specifications include a steel tubular space frame, with fiberglass-reinforced plastic panels, a roll bar, disc brakes, and all round self-regulating suspension. What keep me interested are electric windows and mirrors, a radio/MP3 player, 14″ alloy wheels, remote central locking, and an LCD display; further options include 15″ alloys, cooled/heated seats, a boot rack and even a leather interior. It also has a glass roof or a removable fiberglass roof panel, a forward-folding passenger seat, laptop dock, and most importantly has Bluetooth phone connectivity. You certainly can’t ask for more in just £8,995; what you need to do is wait till autumn; it’s not that distant.

Any concept vehicle that is designed today on the Cg frames has a very long way to go before it actually transcends in to a bit of a reality. For some apparent reasons such as the language barrier we may not really have as much info about this concept car as we should and that is still fine as this seems to be something that just needs the looks to get its point across. This concept vehicle is designed surely for the tomorrow’s world and is a design that will hit a chord with the young.

concept-car-2_Tcqx7_7071

It seems to be a three wheeler in a very unique way as the two tires on the front are to the ones on a bicycle and the back one is something that is much smaller offering a better balance and stability to the whole thing. It seems to be a two-seater with not too much of a space for anyone or anything else. Let’s see where this concept ends up at!

This is something that apparently was showcased in the 1st Philippine International Motor Show Transportation Design Contest which is held in the World Trade Center Manila and won the 1st place. While I’m not going to be the one who is going to pass a quick judgment on the design or how exactly this is not that awesome as we do not have enough information on it, it still looks barely anything that actually would win something substantial to me. The difficult part is that we just do not know what the exact idea of the project is and what is it specifically aimed at.

halo-2_tYnUK_7071

This vehicle has been designed Mark Barquin and it looks more akin to something that might be a part of public transport than a sleek and stylish design that has been something of a trend off late. This is something akin to a taxi in a very weird way where you enter it through a big circular opening and that might be bit of a fun. Apart from that there is nothing really rebellious or unique about this as far as I can see it. Of course, I could stand corrected once I get to know more.

In a bid to rediscover personality and individualism, the urban individual car concept created by designer Mihai Stamati aims at providing a sort of personal space to the drivers of the ever so populated metropolis of the future. The concept acknowledges the need for maintaining contact and communication with the surroundings and this facet is well reflected in the transparent elements of the design.

By presenting a possibility that specially caters to urban commuters and urban traffic situations, the concept uses its clever yet simple and structural construction to gives its bionic elements a uniqueness and originality that is inspired from the world of insects while its lightweight construction boasts of an unparallelled sense of individuality.
