Project Nomad from Jason Battersby is about the “ultimate driving experience” and the concept is a powerful machine that could very well be an animal. The futuristic concept takes an animal-like shape, and the driver sits atop the concept as a person would sit on a horse. There are hand and foot controls on the concept to drive it in a way similar to motorcycles.

The Nomad not only looks like a beast, it moves like one too: on its legs. That makes it exceptionally well suited for off-roading and adventures. The concept includes a helmet and survival pack for the rider, which will find good use in the off-roading adventures it is intended for. GPS helps the Nomad to locate the best routes and its fuel source, which brings us to a very interesting part. The concept feeds on vegetation and uses it as a fuel; something that is not likely to happen. Nevertheless, it goes well with the idea and purpose of the concept, and that probably makes it worth it all.

Harley Davidson’s latest offering, the 2009 Harley Davidson Iron 883 is a no-frills chopper, in what can be called a very simple and minimalistic package. The chopper is powered by a rubber-mounted 883cc evolution engine, and its old-school look is accentuated by the chopped rear fender, black drag style handlebars, side mounted license plate, one-piece solo seat and chrome staggered exhausts. And by the looks of it, some intelligent customization will probably do wonders for the motorcycle. Prices begin at $7899.

High speed car chases are sort of fun to watch, but they put a number of lives in danger. Criminals with no respect for life and property go about driving recklessly, and cops have to follow them at high speed. Designer Andi Dewanto has come up with the 3Wheeler, a concept that will cut these chases short, and reduce the inherent risk to life in these chases.

The 3Wheeler is an unmanned racing vehicle, that can accurately locate and nab those runaway vehicles. It can move deftly in crowded areas, and can garner sufficient speed to catch up with the crooks. It has two front wheels and one rear wheel to help maintain balance and speed. The concept may be able to tackle the bad guys; also, it will make high speed chases more fun to watch.

On the first glance, the Exo-Audi concept may not look like some uber-futuristic vehicle; but it is every bit futuristic, mostly because the source of its power sounds too fantastic. The concept is a human powered vehicle, making use of its exoskeleton and the advances nanotechnology may see in the future, this human powered vehicle could be fairly powerful and fast.

In a way, the driver and the car become “one,” the vehicle drawing energy required to run from the driver’s kinetic energy. The designer, Andrea Mocellin envisions a robotic system that would give the human body “more power, more control and reduces stress to all the muscles, provides more endurance and more fun.” The idea of the concept is to re-invent a physically engaging driving experience, and do that in a high-tech way.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is just a couple of days away, and since this year’s featured marque is Audi, the Earl of March has commissioned a giant art piece in the automaker’s honor. The art piece looks like a part of some Hot Wheels collection, only it’s massive. It is 135 feet tall, weighs 40 tonnes and has a 1937 Auto Union streamliner and an Audi R8 V10 at either end.

This sculpture, which looks like a swoosh of tire tracks has been designed by Gerry Judah, and the self supporting structure is made entirely out of steel. Since Audi is celebrating its centenary this year, having this sculpture to its name would add a nice touch to the celebrations.

It is very likely that unlike us, you have outgrown your toy cars. And if you possess those cars in huge numbers, and they are still respectably intact, here’s a cool way to put them to use. We doubt someone will have toy cars by the hundreds that they’ll want to stick on to a wall, but you can get a number of toys at the cheap and you know, add décor to your place. Or just play. Whatever.

The ATNMBL futuristic car concept sounds as good as the flying apartments, only this one has much better chances of seeing the light of the day. First off, the ATNMBL concept is autonomous, it doesn’t need a driver, and it has no steering wheel, brakes, or even the driver’s seat. In a way the car chauffeurs itself, you can call it using a phone and it will arrive in your driveway. It offers modular seating, the couch, side chairs, tables can be moved according to the wish of the passengers.

A flat display is the basis of the concept’s infotainment system, and the display can slide upwards to reveal a bar. With enough space for seven people, this could as well be a living room on wheels! Commuters can interact with the vehicle using touch recognition and voice recognition. The concept is powered by in-wheel electric motors fed by a battery, while solar panels on the concept’s roof provide auxiliary power. The concept was developed by industrial design studio Mike and Maaike.

No matter how cool and harmless the I-SOBOT sitting atop a Steampunk tank looks, it is an indicator of the advent of our robotic overlords. They’re probably just training on these little tanks before they move on to more dangerous killing machines. For now it is a little humanoid robot riding a steam powered tank, but soon things could change. To arms people, we have to stop the evil before it gets stronger. Also, we want one of those to play with.
